Scholarships

For students who live outside of the United States, we offer a limited number of 25% or 50% scholarships for the first semester.  After the first semester, you may be eligible for work-study in the school.  After you complete two full semesters, you may apply to Immigration for permission to work in the community.

TERMS & REQUIREMENTS:

To apply for a scholarship, submit the following items to our office at least 60 days prior to when you plan to come to Nomen Global.

1. Letter of Recommendation — this must be provided by someone other than a family member.  It is normally done by a school teacher, a government official, an employer or an outstanding citizen in your community.  The letter must illustrate that you are an individual of good character and explain why you deserve to receive this scholarship.
2. A Personal Essay — this essay should be one page and should answer the following questions:
       a.  Why I deserve to be awarded a scholarship from Nomen Global Language Centers.
       b.  How receiving this scholarship and learning English will benefit my life.
       c.  How my increased English skills will benefit my country upon my return.
       d.  The financial circumstances that require me to seek financial assistance.
3. Completed Application Packet*
       a.  Application Form
       b.  School Application fee - $100
       c.  Financial Documentation (that you will submit to the embassy)
       d.  Black and white copy of your Passport

*These scholarships are not valid for current or former Nomen Global students or for transfer students currently studying in the United States.  (See the transfer student discount.)

ACCEPTANCE:

Your scholarship application will be reviewed by our Scholarship Committee.  You will be notified if you are awarded the scholarship.  Note:  You must bring the notification letter with you when you come to Nomen Global.  

If you are approved for a student visa, your scholarship will be reserved until you register for classes. You must arrive prior to the first day of classes in order to claim your scholarship.  If you find you cannot arrive until later, please contact us as soon as possible to make application to defer your scholarship.
